Artist & CEO Katherine Filice to Design 2020 Poppy Jasper International Film Festival Art Posters
September 2019 (Morgan Hill, CA USA): Organizers of the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival (PJIFF) announced that acclaimed Gilroy artist, and Articulate Solutions CEO, Katherine Filice has been selected to design the poster art for next year’s film festival, which will be again held in Morgan Hill and Gilroy as well as expanded to Hollister and San Juan Bautista in 2020.
Festival Director Mattie Scariot stated, “We chose Katherine Filice as our artist for 2020 because she brings such a high level of thinking and artistry that reflects the caliber of films and filmmakers that we want to attract. As an internationally recognized artist, Katherine creates compelling artwork that will help enhance the reputation of our film festival and command more attention from around the world. We’re thrilled to work with her on this project!”
According to Scariot, 2019 was the first year that PJIFF chose an artist to create the poster for the Film Festival, with the idea of promoting the film festival from a professional artist’s perspective. Gilroy artist Nacho Moya designed the colorful 2019 poster. The 2019 film festival showcased 105 films from 28 different countries, solidifying the event’s growing reputation as a truly “international” film festival.
