One balloon, two balloons, three and four,
Threatening “world peace” or not at all.
Are these Sino-meteo-zeppelins
Or sophisticated spying machines?
Politicians from both sides of the aisle,
Beside themselves with tales of beguile.
Shoot them down, they all yell,
Or our democracy would not prevail!
The US mainstream media
Continuous coverage 24 hours.
Many experts were interviewed
What are the Chinese really up to?
Blinken canceled his diplomatic trip,
Citing these are indeed spy ships.
We won’t fly across our planet,
To talk to people who can’t be trusted.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen
Yelling at congress to raise the debt ceiling.
Our national debt is in default,
Not-to-worry, only 32 trillions!
Politicians move into positions,
Jockeying for next year’s elections.
All domestic problems are minor
Compared to this major “Balloon Saga”.
Has our country gone bananas,
Making mountains out of molehills?
Or should we shoot first and ask questions later?
Do not threaten our democracy in this manner!
