Dr. Liudmila Schafer

Dr. Liudmila Schafer, MD, FACP, an Associate Professor of Medicine and board-certified Medical Oncologist specializing in Gastrointestinal malignancies, she level the playing field of knowledge around cancer prevention, treatment, clinical research, and precision oncology to help patients and healthcare professionals make informed decisions so they can bravely achieve their goals.

For two decades, Dr. Schafer has pursued the hard-fought advances in her career, finding avenues for progression as a female oncologist. Growing up and starting her career outside of the United States, she can relate to health disparities and focuses on underrepresented populations through passionate patient care and economically sustainable treatment. Based on her personal and professional inspiring journey, she empowers with strategic knowledge of personal enrichment, leadership growth, and lifestyle roadmap modifications.

She has received multiple honors and recognition from the premier patient satisfaction survey Circle of Excellence, teaching scholar in cancer education, research grant award, and America’s Top Medical Oncologist.  As a grant recipient in educational research, she is a medical trainee and healthcare professional mentor.

Dr. Schafer has presented work at the American Society of Clinical Oncology, International Cancer Education Conference, Association of VA hematology/Oncology and serves on the institutional multidisciplinary tumor boards, national committee for Executive Council for American Association for Cancer Education. She connects with the community through addressing messages on cancer prevention, and has been featured on FOX4, KMBC, Health News You Can Use and regional talks on herbs and supplements. Dr. Schafer published in peer-review journals including Journal of Cancer Education, Journal of Clinical Oncology and her work has been presented at the national conferences.
