Your Vote is Your Voice – Nov. 3rd General Election

Santa Clara County will open the first set of 23 Vote Centers on October 24, for the November 3, 2026 General Election. At Vote Centers, voters are able to vote in person, drop off a Vote by Mail ballot, receive a replacement ballot, and take advantage of additional services such as language assistance, curbside voting, and accessible voting equipment.

Voters can go to any Vote Center in Santa Clara County. A total of 110 Vote Centers will be open throughout the county this election. Twenty-three (23) Vote Centers open their doors tomorrow, October 24, with the remaining eighty-seven (87) opening Saturday, October 31.

Business hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week (except for the Milpitas Library location, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily starting October 31). All locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

The County of Santa Clara began offering Vote Centers in place of traditional polling places in 2020 to allow voters access to more options and services to cast their ballots and encourage voters to vote earlier.

“Visiting a Vote Center this weekend is a convenient way to cast your ballot early with shorter lines and more time for our election workers to provide you the assistance you need,” said Registrar of Voters Matt Moreles. “We want to encourage voters to vote as early as possible this election. Voting early is one of the most powerful ways that you as a voter can ensure your voice is heard this election and avoid any potential issues or delays in getting your ballot counted.”

This election, there have been last-minute changes to the list of Vote Centers due to the unexpected cancellations of two facilities that had previously signed up to host voting locations. Because the two canceled sites were in relatively close proximity, the Registrar of Voters’ (ROV) Office added one additional site to ensure voters in the area still have plenty of options for casting their ballots. Voters who live near the affected locations have been mailed notices.

Vote Centers also allow those who missed Monday’s voter registration deadline a chance to register to vote and cast a ballot on the same day through conditional voter registration.

Voters can also return their completed mail ballot at any Vote Center during business hours or at any of the 111 Official Ballot Drop Boxes which are open 24 hours a day until 8 p.m. on Election Day. While mail ballots that are postmarked by Election Day can be accepted if received within seven days of the election, many voters are increasingly choosing to return their mail ballots directly to the Registrar of Voters through an Official Ballot Drop Box or Vote Center.

“Returning your mail ballot at the Vote Center or an Official Ballot Drop Box is one of the most secure and dependable ways to make your vote count,” added Moreles. “To make sure your ballot reaches us on time, we are recommending that voters mail their mail ballots at least a week before Election Day. After that, we strongly encourage voters to take it to an Official Ballot Drop Box, Vote Center, or the ROV Office.”
