Asian American Stories – 2027 Youth Summer Internship Workshop
On June 22, 2026 Asian American Stories Youth Internship started with a workshop hosted by Diana Ding (Founder, Asian American Stories, Ding Ding TV, and Silicon Valley Community Media) and Joel Wong (Co-Chair, Asian American Stories).
Asian American Stories Youth Intership will last until August 2nd and end with the Award Ceremony celebrating all the participants.
Asian American Stories (aastories.org), an initiative operating under Silicon Valley Community Media (svcommunitymedia.com), is committed to enhancing the visibility and voice of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. With this mission in mind, Silicon Valley Community Media successfully launched Annual Asian American Stories video contests in the Bay Area with an unique theme each year:
● 2024 – “All of Us Belong Here”
● 2025 – “My Gift to America”
● 2026 – “Coming to America”
As an effort to increase awareness among the younger generation and to promote the video contest, our 2025 Youth Summer Internship achieved great results through young talents’ creative ideas.
In this program, student interns will gain valuable real-world experience to help their local community and raise Asian American voices. Tasks may include but are not limited to:
● Producing a one-minute video to participate in the contest
● Recruiting contestants among families and friends
● Promoting the content on social media
What the student interns will earn after the internship:
● Community service hours
● Certificate of completion
● Friends at similar age with multi-culture background
● Opportunity to participate in more activities held by Asian American Stories
