ABOUT CUPERTINO ROTARY

Service Above Self! That’s the motto of 2.1 million members of Rotary International in over 200 countries throughout the world. We join under this common bond and pledge to help those in need with a hand up, a handout, or just a welcoming hand.

The funds we raise are important to our core outreach projects, but more than that, there is a hands-on component in each project we do. Our members volunteered over 10,000 hours in just one year working to make our community a better place. Cupertino Rotary’s members broadly reflect the diversity of our community and come from all sectors of the community: they are the leaders of our local and corporate businesses, schools, city staff and our non-profit community organizations. You are invited to join us – either in helping us fulfill our mission in the community – or as a prospective member of our club. We can guarantee that you will be able to do much good, make new friends and realize a level of personal fulfillment that is hard to find elsewhere in our community.
 Community Service
Service Above Self, one of Rotary’s most cherished axioms is demonstrated through Community Service. In 2015-16 thousands of hours of volunteer work hours and over $100,000 were devoted to projects that made seniors homes safer, delivered turkey and trimmings to more than 400 community residents, built a playroom for children with disabilities, and renovated a home for autistic children. Rotarians utilized their skills as pumpkin carvers, painters, builders, planters, and cheer givers to make sure that our local community benefited.
 Youth Service
Building confidence, self-esteem, and leadership skills are fostered through the programs of Youth Service. The high-school students, called Interactors, are mentored through Rotary Advisors. They raise money and do projects of their design. Events such as our Kid’s Fishing Day, Kid’s Shopping Day and Dr. Seuss Reading Day connect our Rotarians with the younger children of our community-brightening their days and building their skills.
 Vocational Service
Through our Vocational Service activities, we grant funds to teachers to let them add technology, fund field trips, and purchase software to inspire Cupertino high school students to explore our ever changing world.
 International Service
One of the strengths of Rotary is its worldwide scope. It operates in over 200 countries and territories around the world. The Rotary Club of Cupertino partners with a variety of organizations to deliver services to those in need around the world.
