LIN, Xiang
September 21, 1973 – September 2, 2019
In loving memory

LIN Xiang, a Tsinghua University alumna, and our beloved friend and colleague passed away in a tragic accident in the early morning hours of September 2nd, 2019 in California, US.

Xiang was born in Beijing, China, and received her middle and high school education in Beijing Huiwen School. She was accepted into the Department of Computer Science and Technology of Tsinghua University in 1991. After graduating from Tsinghua University in 1996, Xiang continued her studies at Brown University and was awarded a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Before becoming a co-founder at a startup in 2017, Xiang had enjoyed stints at Apple, Microsoft, Hoolai Games and other impressive technology companies in high-profile roles. In January 2019, Xiang joined Acorn Summit Ventures as a Partner with a focus on artificial intelligence.

Xiang was a tech entrepreneur, a software engineer, and a builder, but more importantly, we remember her as an extraordinary woman. She was warm, loving, athletic, courageous, intelligent, and funny; her curiosity and passion have impacted and inspired many whom she came into contact with throughout her life. During her years at Tsinghua University, Xiang was the team captain of the women’s soccer team, and an active leader and member of various student associations. After graduating from Tsinghua, she remained in touch with and contributed often to the school and its alumni, in particular women and fellow entrepreneurs. Xiang loved nature and outdoor activities including wind-surfing, diving, mountain climbing, and many more. Her generosity and charisma made her many friends who remember and dearly miss her.

The following pictures are provided by Lin Xiang’s Family and Friends, she had seen the most beautiful world in the sky and under the water.
