Ding Ding TV Report – Rep. Ro Khanna’s AANHPI Heritage Event
On May 12th, Congressman Ro Khanna and Foothill-De Anza district Chancellor Lee Lambert, with Ellen Kamei, district director of Community and Government Relations and the Mayor of Mountain View hosted a special event on the campus of DeAnza College. The event celebrated the outstanding achievements by members of the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community.
The honorees included:
Mufaddal Ezzy – community activist and volunteer, board member for EdSource and the Partnership for Children and Youth, member of the Fremont Planning Commission
Eun Hee Koo – author, educator, founder of the Korean Language and Culture Foundation, founder and director of the Adroit College Ensemble
Wesley Mukoyama – former social worker, former executive director of Yu-Ai Kai, Buddhist lay chaplain, and a plaintiff in a landmark voting rights case that reformed the Santa Clara election system
Pragnya – San Jose-based organization that supports and advocates for the neurodiverse community
Randy Sabado – retired social worker and founding member of the Coalition for Asian Justice Organization, the Quock Mui Foundation and the Pilipino American Students Association at California State University, East Bay
