U.S. – China Tensions: Challenges and Opportunities for the Chinese American Community
On April 27th, UCA Community Foundation 2025 Board Inauguration and Charity Gala was held in San Carlos, California.
The theme of 2025’s gala was “Solidarity and Resilience: Challenges and Opportunities for the Chinese American Community Amidst Geopolitical Tensions and Global Trade Conflicts.”
Diana Ding hosted a compelling fireside chat featuring esteemed guest speakers Haipei Shue, Gene Chang, and Louis Lam.
They shared invaluable insights on how the Chinese community can effectively navigate contemporary challenges and crises, unite to build stronger communities, and safeguard civil rights and the living environment.

Haipei Shue, founder and president of United Chinese Americans, a lifelong advocate for Chinese American rights.
Gene Chang, Chairman of the UCA Community Foundation, a former entrepreneur and investor, now working tirelessly to unite Chinese American groups.
Louis Lam, an entrepreneur and grassroots organizer who has mobilized civic action in San Francisco and beyond.
