About Our Experts

Scott Rozelle, a Helen F. Farnsworth Senior Fellow and co-director of the Stanford Center on China’s Economy and Institutions, is a prominent scholar specializing in Chinese economics. He recently participated in a Track Two diplomacy initiative between the U.S. and China, joining a group of ten American academics for discussions with 12 Chinese scholars in Beijing. The goal of these meetings was to assess the current state of scholarly exchange and explore ways to enhance cooperation between the two nations.

Peter F. Michelson, an American physicist specializing in high-energy astrophysics, is a Luke Blossom Professor at Stanford University. His research focuses on X-ray and gamma-ray observations and instrument development. In addition to his academic contributions, Michelson has expressed concern about the lingering aftermath of DoJ’s China Initiative and its impact on the Reverse Brain Drain phenomenon, where Chinese scientists are returning to their home country.

Peter R. Zeidenberg was recently featured in the 60 Minutes segment “Collateral Damage,” reporting on Americans wrongly accused of espionage-related crimes. He successfully represented Kansas University Professor Franklin Tao who was accused of illegally sending sensitive information to China. Peter is a partner at Arent Fox LLP in Washington, DC, and is a former assistant US Attorney in the District of Columbia.

Joel Wong, a former employee of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, has dedicated his retirement to serving the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. As the President of NAAUnited and a blogger on Asian American issues and US-China relations, Wong is actively involved in promoting AAPI interests. He is also the Chair of the Judges Committee of the Asian American Stories Video Contest sponsored by Silicon Valley Community Media.
