2019 Cupertino Bridge Award Recipients Announced

CUPERTINO, CA – As Silicon Valley grows more diverse, contact between business people from around the world has become more frequent and necessary for communities and businesses to thrive.
The Cupertino Chamber of Commerce Bridge Award recognizes those individuals and organizations that have helped build trust, respect and dialogue within Cupertino’s multi-ethnic and multi-cultural business community.
In 2019, the Bridge Award for Individual Service recognizes Barbara Nunes. Barbara represents the epitome of the true volunteer.  From her years in teaching through to her time as principal at Cupertino High, she has been in the forefront of most of the service activities that occur in our city.  As a member and officer in Quota International of Cupertino, a former member of the West Valley Community Service Board, a past member of the Fremont Union High School Board of Education, Barbara has served as a catalyst to promote dialogue and innovation across organizations and cultural groups in Cupertino.
The 2019 Bridge Award for Outstanding Business of the Year recognizes the Kiddie Academy. For over 10 years, The Kiddie Academy has delivered a growth-centered experience for children founded on hands-on activities, access to technology, parent involvement, school preparation and character education.
The 2019 Bridge Award for Organization of the Year goes to Feathers in the Wind, a volunteer dance troupe that has performed traditional and modern Chinese dance routines at events for free throughout the community and region for over 10 years.
The awards will be presented at the 2019 Lunar New Year Luncheon Celebrating the Year of the Pig in the Cupertino Room, Quinlan Community Center, Cupertino, on Friday, February 8, from 11:30am – 1:30pm. For event information visit: http://bit.ly/2019LNYL
